If we are simply vehicles hurdling towards our destiny why not pay attention to the machines which sustain us? Loving our physical, emotional and spiritual self allows us to interact not only with the self but also with others in compassion and loving kindness.

Love yourself first, then love others. Compassion and understanding come from within, but rarely do we have a compassion or understanding of ourselves. It can be of great value to put your mind, body and soul first. Whether this means saying ‘no’ more often or making time for a meditation or mindfulness practice like walking outdoors. When we being to love ourselves in little what’s, naturally what follows is the ability to love ourselves in bigger ways. Baby steps turn into bigger steps and we soon find ourselves eating better, sleeping better and thinking more clearly. Take five minutes to yourself today and watch it turn into ten tomorrow. Notice how this time alone and in stillness and silence changes you and then commit to a daily practice of loving yourself.

Great post!
