Alexa Tomaszewski is a Toronto-based Reiki Master, Meditation and Yoga educator/instructor who also writes and creates art. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History and Anthropology at York University in 2008 and continued to complete a Journalism certificate with Honours at Humber College in 2011. As the print journalism industry fell apart due to online access, Alexa went on to train as a certified Yoga Instructor and Reiki Master who now practices out of her own studio in North York, Ontario.
Alexa was first trained at Yoga Tree Studios by owner Jason Lu, and Senior Instructor, Karin Chartuz in 2014. In 2015, she completed additional training with Tracey Soghrati incorporating another 50+ hours of yin and traditional Chinese medicine into her toolkit. Then in the summer 2017, Alexa finished her Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Ahimsa Yoga Studios, enabling her to guide teacher trainings of her own.
Alexa continued to study Reiki with Ashley O’Connell over four years (2015-2019) and in October 2019 completed her Reiki Master training and attunement. This experience guided her towards a greater focus on energetic work, and she has since used the physical aspect of yoga, the energetic aspect of reiki and the emotional aspect of meditation to teach people how they might ‘Heal The Soul’.

Alexa is faculty member and mentor to students coming from Yoga Tree Studio’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. She also holds her own Reiki Attunments and training as well as hosts a 50-hour meditation course.
Alexa is in short informative videos out of Downsview Chiropractic. For about six years while completing her undergraduate degree, Alexa worked as a personal assistant for Chiropractor, Dr. Joel Weisberg and Naturopath, Dr. Samantha Ristimaki, which helped lay an incredible foundation for a holistic approach to health. You can visit the Downsview Chiropractic website for videos on proper sleeping alignment, how to release tension during a long car ride and how to prevent “text neck”.
Alexa assisted Dr. Joel Weisberg in educating the Ontario Surgical Assistant’s Association on how to condition the body away from repetitive strain injury. Using a fusion of resistance band training and core work Alexa and Dr. Joel have lead workshops for surgeon’s assistants high-lighting short, but powerful movements. When these movements are done 3-5 times a week the body is strengthened, and better prepared for the long holds surgery demands.
Finally, Alexa can be found lending her time to help spread the message about yoga’s benefits for mental health to high school students, summer camps and at local campus’. With a carefully formulated 75-minute workshop, Alexa brings mindfulness, meditation, movement and release to over-worked and stressed out youth. The most important message? Teaching young minds that they are the creator of their own lives, and bringing a sense of autonomy back to those students who feel lost or overwhelmed.
