For starters letting go is the release of built up emotional pressure. That always looks different for the individual. We can facilitate this step by practicing yoga, meditation, through aerobic exercise or talk therapy. The second aspect very much revolves around responding with mindfulness and for-thought instead of reacting via emotional discharge. It takes time to learn the regulation techniques to respond instead of react, and maybe in some cases a lifetime.
